A word form the Headteacher

Dear Parents / Guardians

The school has been open for fifteen weeks since the start of the year on September 1st, and the time has really flown by! It's great to see activities and events starting to get back to normal following the pandemic. The impact of the pandemic on individuals and the community in general will certainly continue for years to come. All schools are seeing that more pupils need more support, and that there has been an impact on attendance levels and the mental health of an increasing number of our pupils. But by working together we can be confident that we can rise to this challenge.

This term’s highlights included seeing the return of ‘Parti Pendalar’ and the school Eisteddfod for the first time in three years. Another highlight was seeing the main hall and sports hall full to capacity with the pupils singing the national anthem with conviction in preparation to watch Wales in the World Cup. Least said the better about the game and the result!

It was also great to see our pupils working with pupils from Ysgol Dolbadarn and Ysgol Bethel on the GwyrddNi project, discussing solutions to protect our local area from the devastating impact of climate change. A number of lunchtime clubs were held, including some run by the Sixth Form as part of their Welsh Baccalaureate work....
